Why it pays

Most grain facilities do not have an automation problem — they have an islands problem. The dryer knows its own temperatures. The weighbridge knows the tonnages. The silo system knows the temperatures. The office knows what was invoiced. Nothing knows all four, so somebody reconciles them by hand, usually the person who can least afford the time during harvest.

Manual reconciliation is not just slow, it is where the errors live. A tonnage typed into two systems will eventually differ, and the difference will surface at the worst possible moment — in a buyer dispute or in a stock check.

LINK is worth the least on a new, single-supplier facility and the most on one that has grown in stages over two decades. If your control room contains three generations of equipment from four suppliers, this is the module that turns that history from a liability into a working system.

Which protocols does LINK speak?

LINK is built on open industrial communication standards rather than a proprietary protocol. Which specific standards apply to your equipment is established during the inventory, because it depends entirely on what is installed on your site.

Can it write to our ERP, or only read?

Both directions are possible, and the direction is a deliberate decision per interface. Many customers start with one-way export from BonOS to the office system, because it is lower risk, and add write-back later where it clearly saves work.

What if a device is too old to integrate?

Then we say so. Some equipment has no usable data interface at all, and adding one costs more than replacing the device. The inventory tells you which is which before you commit to anything.

Is LINK required?

No. CORE, STORAGE, DRYER and CARE all work without it. LINK becomes worth its cost when there is other equipment or another system whose data should not be re-typed by hand.
